Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with a rich history and diverse landscapes. Here’s a suggested itinerary for a tour around Colombo, Kalpitiya, Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Mirissa, and Negombo:

Colombo: Begin your tour in the bustling capital city of Colombo. Take a stroll along Galle Face Green, a popular promenade by the sea, and visit the Independence Memorial Hall to learn about Sri Lanka’s independence from British rule. Visit the Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple, which is known for its eclectic mix of architectural styles and Buddhist artifacts.

Kalpitiya:Travel north to Kalpitiya, a beach town known for its kite surfing and dolphin watching. Spend the day on the beach, watching the colorful kites soaring in the sky, or take a boat tour to see dolphins and whales in their natural habitat.

Sigiriya: Head inland to Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient rock fortress. Climb to the top of the fortress for stunning views of the surrounding jungle and countryside. Stop by the nearby Dambulla Cave Temple, which is filled with intricate murals and Buddha statues.

Kandy: Travel to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, which houses a relic of the Buddha’s tooth, and watch a traditional Kandyan dance performance. Take a stroll around the beautiful Kandy Lake and visit the nearby Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

Nuwara Eliya: Drive up to the cool hill country town of Nuwara Eliya, which is known for its tea plantations and colonial architecture. Visit a tea factory to see how Sri Lanka’s famous Ceylon tea is produced and take a walk through the beautiful Hakgala Botanical Gardens.

Ella: Travel further into the hill country to the picturesque town of Ella. Hike to the top of Ella Rock for breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape or take a relaxing stroll to see the Ravana Falls. Enjoy the laid-back vibe of this charming town.

Mirissa: Head south to the coastal town of Mirissa, which is known for its beautiful beaches and whale watching. Take a boat tour to see blue whales, humpback whales, and dolphins in their natural habitat. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach.

Negombo: Drive back to the west coast and end your tour in the beach town of Negombo. Take a stroll around the old town, which is known for its colonial architecture and seafood restaurants. Relax on the beach and watch the fishermen bringing in their daily catch.
